News and Community

Rapid-Med has been very well-received in the community, and we believe it is our responsibility to give back. A collection for PediPlace is an ongoing response to that belief. PediPlace is a nonprofit health clinic in Lewisville for children who otherwise would not receive medical care. When children come to PediPlace, they are given a small stuffed animal. Donations of small stuffed animals, activity/coloring books and band-aids can be dropped off at Rapid-Med at any time, and we will then deliver the items to PediPlace.

At Rapid-Med, we love kids and want to support their activities through team sponsorships. Rapid-Med sponsors sports teams in the area schools and surrounding communities. We also sponsor events at local schools and participate in events such as Career Day, Field Day and Health Fairs.

We recently received thank you notes from students at Blanton Elementary in Lantana after Dr. Becky helped at the annual Field Day.

In the spirit of the season and with a desire to give back to the community, Rapid-Med Urgent Care Center in Highland Village, started a collection for some of the items that PediPlace needs for the children it serves. Zella Tyson, Executive Director of PediPlace, expressed her appreciation when she stopped by Rapid-Med just before Christmas to pick up the donated items. "These items couldn't come at a better time. Santa is going to be at PediPlace this afternoon, and these stuffed animals will make perfect gifts! The generosity of this community and businesses like yours keeps PediPlace going even when things get tough" said Tyson.

Rapid-Med opened its doors in early October to meet both the urgent care and the ongoing medical needs of all ages. Located at 2940 FM 407, Suite 302, in Highland Village, the clinic is family owned and operated by Drs. John and Rebecca Gomez and Vivian McLain. As expressed by Dr. Gomez, "We are proud to be a part of this growing community, and we embrace the PediPlace mission. There are so many needs, and this is just a small way that we can help. We hope to do even more as we grow." For more information about Rapid-Med, call 972-966-1980 or visit their website, www.rapidmedonline.com.
